Anchovy
(Ancoa mitichilli)
Anchovy (Ancoa mitchilli) lives in estuaries and brackish water. Anchovies are in the domain Eukarya, kingdom Animalia, phylum Chordata, class Actinoptergii, order Clupeiformes, family Engraulidae, genus Anchoa, and species mitichilli. Anchovies are small, clearish-silver colored fish. A functional adaptation they have is their clear color makes them hard to see under the murky water. Another functional adaptation is that they have clear eggs which are also hard to see underwater. Another functional adaptation is that their eggs hatch in two days so the reproduction process happens faster. An awesome fact is that anchovies are eaten on salads and other foods. Their predators are humans and striped bass, their prey is crustaceans and zooplankton. They have bilateral symmetry and are heterotrophic. They are also ectothermic.
