Blue crab

This organism is the Blue Crab also known by its scientific name, Callinectes sapidus. This organism can be found in most saltwater areas and can also be found of shore. The domain of a blue crab is Eukaryote, the kingdom is Animalia, the phylum is Arthropod, the class is Malacostraca, the order is Decapada, the family is Portunidae, the genus is Callinectes, and the species is Callinectes spapidos. Blue crabs have a shell looking body, which is brown and blue. Males mate more than once during mating season(behavioral). They average life span of this organism is two years(functional). Always ready to defend itself(behavioral). Blue crabs have bilateral symmetry, which means they can be divided into two parts that are mirror images of each other. This animal is a heterotroph (eats mostly everything and also other heterotrophs) and also is endothermic(warmblooded). The prey of this organism is oysters and mussels. They also have a predator which is humans. A fun fact about this organism is that it can hold up to one million eggs, which are stored under its tail they fold up under their body.
