Brown Pelican

This organism is a Brown Pelican also called by its scientific name Pelecanus occidentalis. You can find this organism in any tropical water or marine coastal wetland. The domain of this organism is Eukaryote, the kingdom is Animala, the phylum is Chordata, the class is Aves, the order is Pelecaniformes, the family is Pelecanidea, the genus is Pelecanus, and the Species is Pelicans occidentalis. This organism has a orange beak, a white beat, and a brown stomach.They have a long beak due to diving for fish.(structural) This organism likes to site on something looking over the water to see when fish come by. (behavioral) Last this organism will hurt anything that comes near its nest. (behavioral) A Brown Pelican has bilateral symmetry, which means they can be divided into two parts that are mirror images of each other. This animal is a heterotroph (eats mostly everything and also other heterotrophs) and also is endothermic(warmblooded). The prey of this organism is small fish. The predators of this organism is Alligators, sharks, and humans. A fun fact about this organism is that the eyesight of this organism lets it dive from 30 meters away from the water.
