Its phylum is Chorodata. The Great Egret’s class is Aves. Its order is Ciconiiformes. The family is Ardeidae. Its genus is Ardea. The Great Egret’s species is alba. The scientific name is Ardea alba. The Great Egret is endothermic and is heterophic. It has bilateral symmetry. A behavior adaptation of the Great Egret is, they are very territorial when it comes to their chicks. This means that the chicks are protected from predators. A structural adaptation of the Great Egret is it has a long bill to take in lots of little fish. Another structural adaptation is the Great Egret has long legs so it can look taller and see things better. It eats frogs, snakes, mice, and crickets. It can be eaten by vultures and raccoons.
