 Habitat- Found in a variety of habitats from the saltiest water of the golf to almost fresh water of the back bays.

It has bilateral symmetry, it is heterotrophic, and is ecothermic. It's generally bright blue in the front and claws. The rest of the body is brown. The fifth leg is paddle shaped for swimming. Females mate only once in their lifetime. Male crabs compete for females and protect them until molting occurs. Crabs can regenerate limbs when they are lost in a fight or other way.It's prey are fish, sea plants, mollusks, crustaceans, and annelids. It's predators are red drum, sea turtles, herons and humans.
