Field trip reflection
On October 7th, 2015 6-3 went on a field trip to the Grice Marine Lab. It was amazing we got to learn about so many different organisms and even catch some. First we went seining. Seining is so much fun to do and watch. Every time we went out we caught something different when we brought the net back in. Some things we caught were anchovies, pompanos, , and even an unidentified fish from offshore. One of my favorite things we caught was the mud crab. We also saw many organisms that we were not able to catch with our seining net. For example, bottlenose dolphin, great egret, and kingfisher are just some organisms we saw. After seining we went to the actual Grice Marine Lab. There our guide, Mr. Pete taught us about many organisms that we caught and saw. He also showed us some organisms that they have caught before. For example he showed us a North American Octopus, it was so cool! After he taught us about the organisms we went to the touch tank and saw even more organisms. For example, there was a huge horseshoe crab, a blue crab, and sea star in the touch tank. I had a great time at our field trip and learned so many amazing things.
